CELEBRATING SUSTAINABLY

As Fairsing marks its fifteenth year on this incredibly beautiful estate, we do so with a continued commitment to environmental stewardship and conservancy.

As a sustainable grower in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Fairsing has held LIVE and Salmon Safe certificates since 2006.

With over 43 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines nestled within a l00-acre forest, the focus is biodiversity and the enduring health of the estate’s ecosystem.

Healthy Ecosystem

To honor our 15th Anniversary, we’re acknowledging and sharing our gratitude for the Kalapuyan Tribal peoples of the Willamette region who, as original land stewards, shaped this landscape with their hands since time immemorial.

The land we now call Fairsing Vineyard was once a carefully designed and engineered ecosystem due to the stewardship of indigenous Kalapuyans and other bands of the Columbia and Willamette river regions.

As guests of this land, Fairsing is dedicated to mindful conservation of the soils, water, land, oak groves, and forests that define this beautiful segment of the Willamette Valley.

In recognition of our anniversary, our sustainability initiatives this year include:

Planting and Cultivating

• Adding numerous conifers and deciduous trees to our forest understory

• Planting 1,000 bare-root Oregon white oak saplings among established oaks of varied maturity

• Cultivating diverse cover crops to contribute to the estate’s soil health and microbiome

• Enhancing holistic farming practices with specially formulated compost (and adding over 10,000 red wiggler earthworms to the mix)

Establishing and Harvesting

• Sharing native wildflower seed mix to nurture to pollinator habitat

• Expanding our apiary to accommodate a growing honeybee population

• Establishing and harvesting our first plot of fiber flax – nature’s most sustainable natural fiber

Continued Stewardship

• Hosting summer solstice vineyard tours to share team endeavors across the estate

• Continued participation in the Willamette Valley Oak Accord with a pledge as a founding signatory member to preserve and protect Oregon’s white oak habitat
