“This offers a persistent whiff of sea spray to go along with its melon and kiwi flavors, creamy and bright, with the tension for Thai yellow curry.”  – Patrick J. Comiskey, August 2020
90 Rating – Wine & Spirits

The palate is beautifully textured with delicate red fruits that dance with unripe honeydew melon and shades of wet stone with bright minerals that drive through to the finish. Wonderfully textured, with gobs of mouth-watering acidity, this is a seriously good effort that is best enjoyed over the next five years. Drink 2020-2025.” – May 2020

“Once past its early reductive state, this wine sings. It’s cidery and lean, with a green scent of fresh almonds and almond skin, and it maintains its precision even as it rolls out apple-pie flavors that are generous and irresistible. The finish is all nut skin and woodsmoke, detailed and complex, for pork loin.”Patrick J. Comiskey, October 2020
93 Rating – Wine & Spirits
“Limpid yellow-gold. Ripe melon, tangerine, vanilla, jasmine and a hint of ginger on the perfumed nose, joined by a subtle hint of leesiness. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering Meyer lemon, honeydew and toasted brioche flavors accented by a smoky nuance. Silky and focused on the clinging finish, which leaves zesty mineral and floral notes behind.” – Josh Raynolds, September 2020

“Brilliant ruby-red. Powerful aromas of red and dark berry preserves, baking spices and candied rose take on a vanilla nuance as the wine opens up. Fleshy and broad in the mouth but lively as well, offering sappy black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a hint of cola. Finishes seamless and very long, with an echo of juicy blue fruit and harmonious tannins that add subtle grip. 18% new French oak.” – Josh Raynolds, August 2020

91 Rating – Wine Advocate

The best of Fairsing’s 2017 Pinots, at least for the moment, this brings penetrating raspberry fruit, highlights of orange peel and acidity that convey an astringent minerality. Aging in one-quarter new French oak lengthens the finish, adding notes of ash, tobacco and sweet spice.
